3 arrested with contraband drugs

RAJOURI, Dec 30: Rajouri police has arrested three persons along with contraband drugs near the main town. SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said that a team of police station Rajouri headed by Inspector Ajaz Haider-SHO Rajouri under the supervision of DySP PC Pranav Mahajan laid a general traffic checking naka at water point Muradpur on highway for frisking of vehicles.
Spokesman said that during checking, a car bearing registration number JK11C-8534 was stopped for frisking and a consignment of 40 grams of contraband drugs was recovered from the car.
"Two persons travelling in the vehicle namely Haroon Rashid resident of ward no 2 Rajouri and Waseem Raja resident of ward no 4 Rajouri found in the vehicle having possession of the contraband drugs were arrested", said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri.
SSP further said that during another naka laid by Inspector Ajaz Haider-SHO Rajouri, another vehicle bearing registration number PB10EQ 4696 was put to frisking near Rajouri town, said SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas.
During frisking of a person travelling in the vehicle namely Mohammad Shabir Sheikh son of Ghulam Hussain Sheikh resident of Kheora Rajouri, 20 grams of contraband drug was recovered. Police said that two separate cases have been registered under FIR 721/2018 under section 8/21/29/60 NDPS Act and FIR no. 722/2018 under sections 8/21/60 NDPS Act have been registered in police station Rajouri. All the three accused have been arrested and both vehicles seized while further investigation to find out the module has been started.
