Udhampur, Dec 30: Five vital years have lapsed and the indoor sports complex at Subash stadium Udhampur here is yet to be thrown open to the public.
Started at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore, the sports complex was to be completed in two years and surprisingly without any inauguration it was thrown open in the year 2016 and suddenly shut on the pretext of some technical problems and work goes on slowly.
Since then the complex awaits inauguration.
Mayank Sharma, a chess player in the town said that many others like him are waiting for the opening of the indoor sport complex to enhance their talent.
Bishan, a retired cop said that he wish to send his grand children to learn skating but as the stadium is not yet opened he is thinking some other option.
Many other locals demanded that the indoor sports complex should be immediately opened so that the local sports talent is further sharpened. |
