Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 30: A meeting of J&K Post Graduate Teachers Association (JKPGTA) was held here today under the chairmanship of Rajinder Kumar Sharma, General Secretary of the Association. In the meeting, the association welcomed the approval of SAC for resolving the issues of ReTs and RReTs and filling up of 3864 vacant posts of Lecturers. The Association urged that all the vacant posts of Masters and Lecturers be filled through DPCs in one go and also sanction the posts of teaching staff in newly upgraded High and Higher Secondary Schools besides filling these posts through DPC too, so that the students of these institutions may get the teaching staff in the coming academic session.
Naresh Kumar, President of the Association, while addressing the meeting stressed upon the authorities to streamline the system of regularization of VC lecturers in the school Education Department, which is at the mercy of one time exemptions through cabinet decision since decades, as already done in 1989, 1996, 2012 and 2018 on cards. Another one time exemption for the fourth time now has been taken which appears to be a step towards regularizing the illegalities committed by the department from time to time, otherwise their appears to be no reason to bypass constitutional body i.e. PSC, which could have verified the eligibility of each candidate and scrutinize the degrees possessed by them. He said that the association is in favour of early regularization of incharge Lecturers through set norms by referring their cases to PSC.
Those who attended the meeting included Ajay Kumar Sharma, Anchal Singh, Saini Kewal Krishan, Ram Pal, Surinder Kumar, Ravinder Rao, Shakti Kumar, Jugal Kishore, Surjeet Singh, Sanjeev Kumar and others.
