Take action against Mehbooba for threats to Governor, Police officers: Harsh
1/2/2019 10:03:29 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 2: Condemning the threatening language used by Mehbooba Mufti against the Governor and Police authorities, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister sought initiation of appropriate legal proceedings against the former Chief Minister.
Addressing media persons, he regretted that not only the Police officers but the constitutional head of the state was also threatened by the erstwhile Chief Minister only to prove her love for the antinationals and terrorists. "Is there none to take cognizance of the criminal and seditions acts of the erstwhile Chief Minister? Are these powerful people above law? Has Mehbooba Mufti been granted immunity from legal action despite her criminal conduct and seditious utterances"? Questioned Harsh while seeking initiation of criminal proceedings against the ex-CM and her party leaders for open defiance of law.
Taking a dig at Mehbooba Mufti for her opposition to the questioning of terrorists' families by Police, he asked her to remember the atrocities committed by her govt during her Chief Ministership on opposition leaders and their family members through use of brute police force.
"During your govt, the police was abused to harass, intimidate, browbeat and torture the opposition leaders, their only fault being that they exposed the omissions and commissions of the coalition govt. Never did it occur to her at that point of time that innocents are being harassed and booked in frivolous FIRs only for political reasons.
Pointing further towards the blatant defiance of sec 144 CrPc, a couple of days back by PDP leaders who entered the Civil Secretariat alongwith hundreds of Party men and hurled out filthy abuses and threats upon Advisors and other authorities, he regretted that they too were allowed immunity and no cognizance of the unlawful activity and rioting was taken by concerned authorities. "Is the trap of law only for the hapless, helpless, poor and un-influential? Are these bigwigs allowed to play with law in the manner they like even in Governor Rule"? Questioned Harsh while urging upon the State Governor and President of India to take cognizance of the illegal and anti national conduct of these powerful politicians.
