Early Times Report

Sunderbani, Jan 2: Hand in glove with Police Officers, some BJP workers turned 'goons' escaped action under law despite registration of FIR against them. Moreover, due to pressure from higher-ups, the SHO is avoiding to produce Challan in Court.
Sources told Early Times that around 18 months back, some 'goons' who happened to be BJP worker in district Reasi attacked a man, who rushed to police station and got an FIR registered against them.
"Since the day when FIR was registered, police of concerned Police Station has been pressurized by top BJP leaders and the Senior Officers for not producing Challan in the Court", said the victim. "I'm surprised that till date, the investigation officer (IO) has not recorded my statement or summoned another party", he said and added that lackadaisical approach of Police to deal the crime committed by BJP workers, is encouraging them to terrorize the public.
"Reluctance of Police to take action in FIR registered shows that the BJP workers have been given free-hand to commit any crime", he said.
He further said that it has been learnt that senior officers were pressurizing the concerned SHO not to produce challan. "I visited Police Station several times, and asked SHO about the status of my cause but the SHO, time and again gave me assurances only but did not produce Challan", he added.
