KVS pensioners hold one day protest in favour of demands
1/8/2019 10:28:21 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 8: Pensioners of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan, Jammu observed one day protest outside the gate of KVS, Regional Office, Hospital road Gandhi Nagar over failure of fulfilling the demands by the government. The protest was held in response to a call given by All India Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan for fulfilling demands as per memorandum.
General Secretary of the welfare said that it may sound unprecedented but is a fact that MOS MHRD in response to a question in parliament said that as per recommendations of Expenditure Management Commission Autonomous Bodies should increase their resource generation to reduce dependence on budgetary support from Govt.
He further said, "Thereby the brunt has fallen on the employees and pensioners for their arrears on account of implementation of 7th CPC which include Salary, Pension, DA and other benefits have been withheld from 01-01-2016 to 31-07-2018".
He added that KVS is an organization fully financed by GOI for imparting quality education to the countrymen is in place since 1967 and never ever faced such peculiar situation. The apathetic attitude of KVS, MHRD and Finance Ministry towards pensioners is highly deplorable forcing them to come to streets at this frail age. We fail to understand how pensioner can be held hostage to the resource generation of authorities. Education is a liability for the government, and is oblige to spend on it.
In a memorandum KVS citing Arrear of Fixed Medical Allowance of Rs 500/- for 13 months, pension arrears of 31 months, Issue revised PPO as per 7 cpc recommendation based on Notional Pay within a reasonable time frame. Also, arrears of Pay, Gratuity etc. of 7 cpc, for servicing period to the employees retired from 1 Jan 2016.
Memorandum also stated that KVS have issued PPOs to bank and some of retired employees who retired after getting 7 cpc pay and allowances without making payment of enhanced Commutation money, Arrears of Pension & FMA of Remaining period to these be paid at an earliest. Implement facility of C.G.H.S. to Retired employees like CG Employee at all available places.
