International Gujar Mahasabha seeks support for successful Gujar Gaurav yatra

Jammu, Jan 8: Jammu International Gujar Mahasabha in a press conference shared the schedule of Gurjar Gaurav yatra in state of Jammu and Kashmir. The press conference was organized by the stale president Jammu and Kashmir of Antar Rashtriya Burjar Mahasabha Dr Younis Choudhary.
Antar Rashtriya Gurjar Gaurav Yatra commenced on 31s October 2018 at Gujjar Dev Mandir from Temple town of
Dwarahat in Almora district of Uttarakhand for Gazni in Afghanistan to offer floral tribute at Samadhi of the last Gurjar Samrat of Bharat with an aim of spreading message, of international peace and social harmony among people. Dr Younis Choudhary and his team of the Mahasabha welcomed their international President Col (Dr) Devanand Gugar, and President Himachal Pradesh Prakash Rao with garlands and traditional Gujar safa .
Col. Gurjar informed that the Gurjar Gaurav Yatra which started on 31st October last year has so far been able to spread the message of peace and social harmony as well as successfully raised the issues of Gurjar staying in forests in States of Uttarakhand Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The Yatra has received warm welcome by not only Gurjars but by all the sections of society in states visited so far.
Coi Devanand Gurjar informed that the Yatra is likely to start in Jammu and Kashmir in last week March. Thereafter will travel all along Gurjar dominated areas reviving and bringing out gio jous past of the worrior community. Col brought out that there is large number of issues where the support of peppie and government of jammu and kashmir is must for us to eradicate the misery of Gurjars of Jammu and Kashmir. Colonel requested for support of people and government for following issues
He added that the Gurjars have been given ST status but it's incomplete as they are denied reservation in promotion contrary to even Supreme Court ruling in their favour. Also Gurjar Development commission should be made with Gurjars as member and chairman so that it can holistically address their problems after fresh census of ST GB community in the state.
He further said that we should preserve our culture and heritage the Gojri language. The government at centre is requested to consider the request to include in 8 schedules. Also On lines of laddakh scout, gurjar scouts and other community based regiments should be established.
