RSS leader's killing: Mob ransacks DC office Kishtwar

Jammu, Apr 27: Outraged at failure of the authorities to nab the killers RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma, his PSO Rajinder Kumar and Pahirhar brothers, the angry protesters on Saturday ransacked Deputy Commissioner's office here on Saturday. Thousands of people from different areas of Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas on the call given by Sanathan Dharam Sabha, a religious organization of minority Hindu community assembled at Char Chinar Kishtwar and started the protest march towards new DC Office complex Kishtwar.
The protestors including hundreds of women raised patriotic, anti militants, anti separatist and other slogans. They also demanded immediate transfer of DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana and SSP Kishtwar.
The angry protesters entered into the DC office complex by breaking three layer security cordon. The protestors including the women entered into a scuffle and had heated arguments with the security men as angry people were seen slamming the security personnel for their failure in protecting the lives of the leaders like Chanderkant Sharma.
The protestors also carried the effigy of Governor Satya Pal Malik and later burnt it to express their anger. "Despite repeated requests, the Governor's Administration has failed to transfer DC Kishtwar," he added.
While addressing the gathering, BJP youth leader Rocky Goswami who led the group of the protestors slammed the police for leaking the letter regarding the threat to the BJP leaders, RSS leaders and other religious and political activist to media, "There is fear psychosis among the people," he added.
Another leader Bal Krishan Parihar and Prithvi Raj Raina also slammed the administration and government for their failure in arresting the culprits involved in the killing of RSS leader.
While the leaders were making the speeches, a mob suddenly turned violent and tried to enter inside the DC Office complex main building but it was prevented by the police at first instance. Later the group managed to enter inside the DC Office building from the back side wherein they damaged several rooms on the ground floor of the four story building. Former Minister Sunil Sharma was also the part of the protest, but after seeing the anger of the youths, he skipped the protest and returned only after the angry protestors burnt the effigy of the Governor Satya Pal Malik.
After creating mayhem inside the DC office complex, the protestors disbursed of with the warning to the government that in case DC Kishtwar and SSP Kishtwar are not removed, they would again stage protests.
Earlier Kishtwar also observe complete shutdown over police & administration failure to arrest culprits involved in killing of RSS leader and his PSO.
All the educational institutions, business establishment remain close while at the same time, bearing few vehicles majority of public and commercial vehicles remain off the road.
Meanwhile according to sources, DC Kishtwar has expressed his resentment towards Kishtwar police for their failure in safeguarding the government property by allowing the mob to break the security cordon and allowing them to ransack the government property.
The sources said that DC Kishtwar has directed SSP Kishtwar Shakti Pathak to immediately arrest all the culprits involved in vandalism within DC Office complex. DC Kishtwar had reportedly also write to senior government officials highlighting the failure of security forces deployed in strength wherein the protestors let the writ of its won in a free for all situation.
