2nd Day of Annual Athletic meet at CLUJ makes headway

JAMMU, Apr 27: The 2nd Day of Annual Athletic Meet 2018-19 at the Sports Ground of GCW, Gandhi Nagar Jammu witnessed great zeal and vigour among the athletes.
An energizing display of events - 5000 meters race, 4 x 400 meters relay race, high jump, javelin throw etc in both men and women's category were organized during the day.
Prof Mushtaq Lone, Controller of Examination, Dr Geetanjali A. Rana, Dean - Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts and Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare distributed the medals to the winning teams and athletes amidst a jubilant ceremony.
On the 2nd day of the meet, Ajay Kumar from Govt. MAM College, Abhishek from GGM Science College and Ankit Choudhary from SPMR College secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the 5000 meters (men). In the 4 x 400 meters race (Women) Rakshi Kumari from SPMR College, Rifat choudhary from GCW Gandhi Nagar and Ujala Mahajan from MAM College secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. In High Jump (women) Ujala Mahajan from MAM College, Rakshi Kumari from SPMR College and Devinder Kour from GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. In the 4 x 100 meters relay race, SPMR College women's team comprising of Shikha, Monika and Rakhi bagged the 1st position while the team from GCW Gandhi Nagar comprising of Neeru Rani, Manisha, Anuradha and Devinder Kour bagged the 2nd position and Govt. MAM College team of Ujala Mahajan, Roshni Mahajan, Pranjal and Munisha Sharma secured 3rd position. In 4 x 400 meters relay race (men), GGM Science College team comprising of Gourav Gupta, Harsh Balotra, Sourab and Sahil Kumar clinched the 1st position while MAM College team comprising of Sourav Manhas, Parul Sharma, Ajay and Mahesh Kumar bagged the 2nd position and the SPMR team of Virat, Jogesh, Rahul and Nikhil bagged the 3rd position. In the Javelin throw Sachin Bhau Govt. SPMR College clinched the 1st position while Mahesh Kumar and Waqar Younis from MAM College claimed 2nd and 3rd positions.
