Rajouri police recover illicit liquor, arrest accused

Rajouri, April 14 : Tightening its noose against illegal manufacturing and sale of desi liquor, the Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district unearthed two separate working stills in Nowshera police station area and arrested the accused besides seizure of manufactured liquor.
Additional SP Nowshera, GL Sharma said that police is keeping a close vigil in the area to tighten noose against those involved in the crime of illegal preparation and sale of desi liquor.
“ In Nonial village of Nowshera, Nowshera police station team headed by Station House Officer Fareed Ahmed was on routine patrolling when two person namely Karim Hussain son of Mohammad Yousaf and Neeraj Kumar son of Devinder Kumar, both resident of ward 2 Nowshera, were found walking along road and carrying a plastic gallon and a plastic bottle.” said AdSP Nowshera.
He added that duo were put to frisking and were found carrying around six litres of liquor following which duo have been arrested and booked in Excise Act as well as for violation of lockdown restrictions with a case in FIR 65/2020 have been registered in Nowshera police station.
