JAMMU, Apr 14 :In the testing times when whole nation along with other countries is fighting against the spread of deadly COVID-19 pandemic at all fronts and lockdown continues to remain in force keeping movement of people restricted to their respective homes only, a few sects of our society are out to work day and night with regard to safeguard our lives and the atmosphere around us without any delay or interruption said social activist Chandra Dhar here today.
While felicitating medical professionals, police personnel, safaikaramcharis by showering bunches of flowers on them and clapping to honour their work Chandra said, “you people are our real heros who deserve encouragement and appreciation from all walks if society in these testing times when we are all under complete lockdown to save our selves from the deadly COVID -19 pandemic which has engulfed the whole world under its grip but you people are out of your homes and hearths to make us aware so that we can be safe”.
“Besides, at the same time we forget to remember media persons who collect news from each and every corner to keep us updated with the happenings that take place far and near “ she added.
Chandra organized a felicitation programme with locals in order to encourage and appreciate medical professionals, police personnel, safai karamcharis and media persons for remarkable role being played by them at Lane No 8 ,Jagti camp here today while maintaining strictly social distancing and keeping in view other necessary parameters of the lockdown restrictions.
She urged the residents of Jagti colony to stay indoors to be safe during lockdown 2.0 also, which has been imposed in the country after the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on national television today at 10 AM for another 19 days from April 15.She expressed hope that people will show same respect and solidarity for restrictions with second phase of lockdown in the same manner as they have been showing during previous one .
She also distributed hand made masks among the needy people which she has prepared with the help of other fellow women out of their own pocket to serve the cause.
