Issue movement passes illegally, DDC initiates inquiry

RAJOURI, Apr 14: Naib Tehsildaar Budhal and Tehsildar Kotranka have allegedly been found on wrong foot, who issued movement passes in favour of few people in contravention of the directions of the District Administration Rajouri, after which the DDC Rajouri ordered inquiry against them. Meanwhile DDC Rajouri ordered cancelation of all passes with immediate effect.
Sources told Early Times that taking strict action against the misuse of passes, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri today ordered cancelation of all movement passes when reports of illegal issuance of passes, particularly by Naib Tehsildar Budhal and Tehsildar Kotranka, were reported.
As per order, which reads that it came to fore that two numbers of passes in favour of Amir Sofi son of Farooq Sofi and Abdul Aziz son of Maqool Hussain, for the movement from Budhal to Srinagar and Koteranak to Jammu have been issued by the Naib Tehsildar Budhal and Tehsildar Koteranka respectively, in violation of the orders issued by District Magistrate.
When this report reached to DCC Rajouri, he immediate took note of the matter, further cancelled both the passes and other passes issued by the Additional District Magistrates/ Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars/ Naib Tehsildars in respect of movement of persons and private vehicles with immediate effect.
DDC, in his order, directed the ADC Koteranka to hold enquiry, regarding issuance of aforementioned passes by Naib Tehsildar Budhal and Tehsildar Koteranka and shall submit a report so that disciplinary action under rules may be initiated.
Meanwhile, DDC Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh said that the main objective of issuance of passes was to continue the essential services and for that a mechanism was put in place by the district administration adding that passes were issued to the officers/ officials of the essential services departments like FCS&CA, PHE, Power, Health, Fire and Emergency, Sanitation etc. and also to those who are deployed for various duties for smooth functioning of the administrative quarantine centers. Moreover to attend the medical emergencies and to regulate the movement of vehicles carrying essential commodities, permissions are being issued with the time limit and even e-pass services have also been started by the office of the DM, so that public may not suffer.
