Patience is the key

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extending the nationwide lockdown till May 3 is an ample proof of India’s resolve to defeat COVID-19 virus which so far has claimed millions of lives across the world.
India has been under lockdown for the past 21-days and now it has been extended for equal number of days again. When the first lockdown was announced there were just few cases of COVID-19 across the country but the leadership took a call at that point of time and did not wait for the situation to worsen. During the past three weeks lockdown has helped in containing the virus to great extent as India is not struggling like United States, Italy, Spain and other countries. Things till date have been manageable.
If situation remain under control during the next three weeks there is every possibility about the COVID-19 packing its bags and leaving India. Everyone is aware that lockdown has added to the woes of people and poor are struggling to make their ends meet. But at the same time there seems to be no other option other than lockdown to fight this deadly virus.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has made the lives difficult for the people who are suffering due to other ailments and must visit the hospitals regularly for the treatment. Due to government hospitals being busy in tackling the COVID-19 cases, private hospitals and nursing homes could have come handy. But most of these private healthcare institutions are unable to provide any great help to patients as their staff is unable to reach there.
In the second phase of lockdown the government should pay attention towards somehow starting the operations of allied health sectors, which can supplement the government hospitals. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has hinted that activities will start gradually and exit plan has been formulated to come out from the lockdown.
India doing better than other COVID-19 hit countries is a good sign and if people continue to remain firm on their resolve they can set an example for the entire world. When the COVID-19 spread in the first world countries many experts predicted that India will witness large scale devastation but their words didn’t come true as the people took all the possible precautions and followed the advisories issued by the government in letter and spirit. Just some more patience is required to defeat this deadly virus completely. The endurance is the key.
