Early Times Report

Rajouri, Feb 10 : The worst condition of the roads is not a new thing for the Rajouri town and in some areas due to bad condition of road, the problem of traffic jams, congestion, accidents can be seen usually. Every year funds are alloted for its maintance but the ground reality is totally different. There are still many areas which are being ignored for the last many years. Some of the areas like the road from Sheema Crossing,ALG By pass road to Mughal road stretch is in very bad condition.
The worst condition of road referred to as Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) bye pass road in Rajouri town that connects many intra-town areas with each other and with Government Medical College is putting people in a state of severe hardships.
People while training their guns against Public Works Department have asked for immediate pacing up of road project work and to give necessary respite for the local population.
Locals from Rajouri town said that ALG bye pass road started from BGSB University morh and ends at Army convoy ground Kheora and is not only connects different parts of Rajouri town with each other but it also moves upto Government Medical College from one side.
They said that entire stretch of Rajouri town to BGSB University road and especially this ALG bye pass road is in worst condition for past over many years and work started by Roads and Building (Public Works Department) is going on at snails pace.
They stated that tall claims made by the concerned department regarding earliest completion of this road are falling flat and thousands of people are feeling helpless in the hands of concerned department.
People Appealed To The LG Of Union Territory Of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha To Ensure Immediate Repair Of This Road.
As per the report of the EXN PWD Division Rajouri, the said project has been sanctioned under languishing schemes at an estimated cost of 19.97 crores, but due to some technical issues is work on the said project is slow & the matter has been taken up with CE
