Uninterrupted power supply still a dream for Mendhar
2/10/2022 11:40:22 PM
Early Times Report

MENDHAR, Feb 10: Residents of this town have said that uninterrupted power supply is still a dream and demanded that the Jammu & Kashmir administration should pay special attention and take up various projects that would ensure that adequate power is supplied to the people.
The residents in rural areas of this town have said that the Power Development Department (PDD) has miserably failed to provide adequate round the clock power supply to the Mendhar sub-division. They alleged that after every two hours of electricity the PDD resorts to hours of curtailment which mostly lasts for two, three and more hours.
Social activist Aziz Chowdhary said that the residents of entire Mendhar sub-division are suffering because of frequent disruptions in power supply not only this but also there is the problem of low voltage. He said number of villages has no electricity poles besides facing low voltage supply and frequent power cuts.
He said that PDD follows no schedule of power curtailment adding the frequent power cuts not only affects studies of students and business of the shopkeepers but also creates hardships for the ailing people as well.
They said the power supply scenario in Mendhar sub-division has gone from bad to worse as frequent power cuts have become regular.
Aziz appealed LG-administration to pay special attention towards poor power supply scenario in Mendhar sub-division and take appropriate steps in the larger interests of people.
