10/23/2014 12:23:16 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to spend the Diwali with flood affected people in J&K is a rare and welcome gesture. On the principle of the decision there should be no questions. This will be Modi's fourth visit to Jammu and Kashmir since he became the Prime Minister five months ago. The fact that the Prime Minister has visited J&K more times than any other place during these five months proves his desire to help the people of the State and to ensure that the rest of the country identifies with the people of the State. It has been welcomed by everybody except for the Kashmiri separatist who have opposed the visit proving that they are hardly bothered about any real relief and rehabilitation of the people whose lives have been devastated by the recent floods. Modi is expected to announce a massive relief package for the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir during his one-day visit to the Valley. It can always be said the Prime Minister should have also chosen to visit the Jammu region during his visit to the State on the occasion of Diwali ...
