Jammu, Mar 23: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has repeatedly ordered the private schools to refrain from forcing parents to purchase books, uniforms and stationery items from particular designated shops but several private schools in Jammu district are openly indulged in such illegal and unethical practices.
According to documents in possession of Early Times, several private schools have been issuing written directions to the parents to purchase books, uniforms from particular designated shops in total violation of the order issued by DSE Jammu.

Jammu, Mar 23: Thousands of crores of public money have been saved as no whooping grants were spent on the luxuries of elected representatives in the erstwhile state, causing a drastic dip in annual rate of increase in liability.
As per the official documents in possession of Early Times, during the financial year of 2018-19, the government had borrowed Rs 13487 crore from central government to mitigate the pending liabilities. As the liabilities crossed Rs 83 thousand crores and the government had to pay Rs 83573 crore in the year 2019-20, however, due to absence of elected government in Jammu and Kashmir, the annual rate of increase in liability has come down.

SRINAGAR, Mar 23: The COVID-19 death toll in Jammu & Kashmir reached 1983 as two more people died due to the virus in the Kashmir valley in the past 24 hours; the total number of positive cases reached 1, 28,836 following 157 new cases.
Srinagar district reported 56 fresh cases of Corona Virus including 25 travelers followed by Jammu district 39 cases, Baramulla district 23 cases, Budgam district 14 cases, Kathua district five cases, Pulwama, Kupwara, Anantnag and Udhampur districts three cases each, Kulgam, Rajouri and Samba districts two cases each and a case each in Bandipora & Reasi districts.
