Mehbooba clips babus' wings: No foreign trips

Early Times Report srinagar, May 13: Baringing an end to lavish foreign trips for bureaucrats who would often do it in the name of promotion of Jammu and Kashmir state, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has clipped wings for such prospective travel. Over the years, officials would frequently travel abroad at government expenses, in the name of "bringing business fortunes" for the state or to "gain experience and insight of international exposure." But such trips, as per insiders, often proved nothing beyond personal amusement of government functionaries at the cost of public money. Sources said in the latest, at least four officials who were scheduled to visit Middle East and Europe, have been outright denied the permission for "lavish holidaying at the cost of state exchequer."
