Hope for assembly elections in J&K revives after 4-years

Early Times Report Jammu, June 19: Exactly four years have passed since Governor rule has been imposed in Jammu and Kashmir. It was only June 19, 2018, when the BJP had dumped its coalition partner Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP). After BJP broke its alliance with PDP and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti resigned, President Ram Nath Kovind had imposed the Governor's Rule in the erstwhile state. This was the eighth time the state has been put under the Governor's Rule. As per the constitution of the erstwhile state of J&K, President’s rule was imposed in J&K on December 19, 2018, under Article 356 of the Indian Constitution after six months of the Governor’s rule. After the passing of four years, the hope of installing a democratically elected government has revived after latest development. Early Times Report Srinagar, June 19: Four terrorists were killed in two separate encounters with security forces Sunday in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara and Kulgam districts, police said. While two terrorists were killed in Kupwara as many were eliminated in Kulgam, they said, adding some more terrorists are hiding and operation was still underway in both the areas.
