Early Times Report Jammu, July 24: Proverb 'between two stools we come to the ground' is appropriate for Jammuites, as in want of AIIMS for Jammu, existing GMCH and its up-gradation Super Specialty of Hospital are being ruined. Sources said that on recommendations of his trusted lieutenant Rajinder Kala, a businessman, Health and Medical Education Minister Lal Singh is mulling to crate units in each department of GMCH and SSH Jammu. "Kala, who has close proximity with Lal Singh, since Singh become Health Minister during PDP-Congress coalition 2002, has more than five drug stores", sources said, adding that being right hand of Minister the business is 'running' transfer industry in Health and Medical Education Department. "Medical store inside Sarwal Hospital, ASCOMS, City Medical Shop in Bakshi Nagar, Apple Medical Hall in city chowk and a medical store in Medical store inside Government Hospital Akhnoor is owned by Rajinder Kala", source said. "Doctors like, Dharminder Kumar, who being deadwood, deserve to be forcefully retired from government services are getting encouraged. Irrational and unjustified move of Health Minister is discouraging, the medico fraternity, who are professionally performing their duties", sources said, adding that instead of being awarded, deserving doctors are being oppressed by minister and his men. "Creation of another unit within cardiology, is not an isolated case, the Minister concerned has given indications, to create more units in existing departments. Doing so the minister is putting thousands of lives in risk and it is happening on the recommendations of Minister's aides", they added. Sources further said demand of setting-up AIIMS in is justified, but at the same, one should raise his voice against deteriorating condition of government owned health sector in Jammu also. "How two are more units in each department can work with a single OT and other limited resources", they questioned. |
