| Construction company denies job to locals, protest held | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Dec 18: Local unemployed youth of Daraba staged protest demonstration against M/s Pateel Construction Company for not providing employment to them in the ongoing works of the Parnai Hydel Project Daraba in Surankote here today alleging that company has been giving preference to outsiders where as local youth of the area were ignored.
Sources said that a strong protest was staged by local youth against the construction company who denied employment to them while as they were promised to provide job when their land was used for the project. "Even Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed promised us that Job in the construction work will be provided to local youth only", said Asif Muneer Khan who is a trained medical assistant but was not given job in the project" He further added that project Manager Ravi Kant is preferring outsiders while as locals of the area are denied although all of them are technically fully trained.
The Pateel Construction company has to construct a 7km long Tunnel from Daraba to Bhataduriyan which will connect many villages like Moila Kellar, Naka Majali, Bhata duriyan and Sanjoit with Mendhar.
People of the area said that out youth were very skilled and trained in many streams and denying job to them by the construction company is pure by injustice with them. They further alleged that sub standard material was being used in the construction work and there is no check on the part of authorities. The district development commissioner must take the cognizance of the matter and visit the construction site to find out the facts, they further demanded. |
