Udhampur stadium becomes safe haven for gamblers, addicts 12/18/2015 11:36:20 PM Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report Udhampur, Dec 18: The under-construction Indoor Multipurpose Hall at Subash Stadium Udhampur has become a safe haven for lovebirds, gamblers, addicts and other wrong elements. It is pertinent to mention here that this block of the Stadium was inaugurated by ex-Health and Youth Services and Sports Minister, Taj Mohi-ud-Din when its foundation stone was laid in the presence of ex-MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia on Nov. 16, 2013. According to sources three year has passed when the work on this project was started which still awaits completion. Sources said that peoples of Udhampur usually go for evening walk at Subash Stadium at evening hours but the presence of wrong elements there scares them. "Gamblers, addicts and other such elements present in the indoor stadium use filthy language under the influence of liquor," said an evening walker. Locals of the area are too facing similar problems. When contacted Sports Council Officer, Satish Chopra said that they have filed complaints with police and got an FIR registered in this connection at Udhampur Police Station.
