Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 18: Rejecting the allegations that previous government has promoted 23 senior village Level Workers (VLWs) as in charge Block Development Officers( BDO's) on fake documents in the rural development Department, Senior NC leader and former Rural Development Minister Ali Mohmad Sagar Friday said that whatever we did, we have done it in a transparent manner.
"It is wrong to say that our government has given promotions on fake documents. We have not done anything wrong. Being a Rural Development Minister I always ensure transparency. On the issue of any promotions we always follow the set procedure including the seniority of the officials," Sagar told early times.
He said though our Government promoted some officials to make newly created Administrative units functional but I can say with the responsibility that we followed the set procedure. "I even rejected some of the cases of promotions as they were not eligible for the same," he said and added that he does not agree that illegal promotions have been done during his tenure.
It is to mention here that according to the reports the Government has resolved to reverse the decision taken during previous regime with regard to the promotions of 23 senior Village Level Workers (VLWs) as incharge Block Development Officers (BDOs) on 'fake' documents in the Rural Development Department.
It was also reported that the previous government bypassed the requisite procedure and accorded promotions to the favorites without seeking the mandatory 'Vigilance clearance' and verification of the documents/ degrees of the candidates. However the former minister Ali Mohmmad Sagar rejected all the allegations and said that nobody can raise the finger in this regard.
