While Jammuites wait for months, CAPD provides ration at doorstep of Secretariat employees 12/18/2015 11:37:05 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 18: The Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department has allegedly adopted a dual yardstick in distribution of ration, as on one hand department has left Jammuites waiting for ration supply for months together but on the other hand ration at doorsteps has been provided to Secretariat employees. Locals of Panjthirthi area informed Early Times that on Thursday morning ration laden truck of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department reached at Ahata Poonch House to distribute ration among the move employees of Secretariat, who are presently stationed in Jammu. They further said that for the last many months Jammuites have not got sugar quota and whenever the residents approached the ration dealers, they put onus on higher officials for delay to release of sugar quota. "Moreover, we have to wait for several days together for ration quota. Even the last month's ration quota was given by department few days back in Panjthirthi area and December month is approaching towards closure", he said. The residents further said that it was a step motherly treatment with the Jammuites but the Secretariat employees were getting special treatment. "As these employees are directly related to power corridors and if they find any obstacle, they lodge complaints to the senior officials but where the common man will file complaint", Sushma Sharma of Panjthirthi said. Former Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Narinder Singh Jamwal while criticizing the alleged dual yardstick of CAPD department said that it was step motherly treatment with Jammuites. "Since last month the CAPD had also stopped the supply of 10 kilograms packed floor bags. There is reportedly a nexus between CAPD officials and ration mill owners as due to 10 kilograms' bags supply, the mill owners were incurring losses due to decline in demand", he said. He further said that if there would be stoppage of 10 kilograms' bags supply by CAPD, ultimately the packaged floor of mill owners would be sold and they would generate huge profit.
