Ist Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tourney
Param FC, Vijay Heroes enter quarters

JAMMU, April 08: Param Football Club (FC) and Vijay Heroes won their respective matches to qualify for the next round of quarterfinals of the ongoing Ist Vishal Heer Memorial Football at GGM Science College ground, here today.
In the first match, Param FC upset the fighting young side of J&K Bank Academy by a solitary goal. The only goal came through Tafazul Irshad in the 48th minute.
Since both sides played aggressive football, Ravi (44th) of Bank Academy and Sanpreet Singh (67th) minute of Param FC were shown yellow cards for committing deliberate mistakes. Arun Naghial of the winners’ side was named man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Vijay Heroes trounced Young Rovers 6-5 in tie-breaker.
Earlier, in the stipulated time the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Vijay Heroes took the first lead netting the ball in the very second minute of the game through Achal Sharma. However, the lead was equalized by Koushal in the 25th minute.
Later, in tie-breaker, Vijay Heroes emerged victorious. Sourab Jangral, Rahul Kumar, Sanju Jangral, Abhimanyu and Kajal Singh successfully netted the ball from Vijay Heroes.
Achal Sharma, Dushyant Sharma, Surjeet and Sahil Kumar were the scorers from Young Heroes while Vishal Angral missed the target. Achal Sharma was named man of the match for his superb performance.
Today’s match officiated by the technical penal including Tanpreet Singh, Harmanjeet Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Rohit Kumar Gupta, Suresh Gupta, Koushal Kumar and Ricky Kumar.
NEXT MATCH: Sainik Colony Football Club shall take on NGR Club at 3.30 pm tomorrow.


Biscoe, FC 69 in 3rd round of U-17 Futsal

SRINAGAR, April 08: Tyndale Biscoe, J&K Academy and FC 69 advanced into the third round of the under-17 category of the ongoing Futsal competition, organised by J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Complex, here today.
In this junior age group, All Stars B, MEF and All Stars XI also won their respective matches to advance into the next round.
Meanwhile, in senior category of F-Cube group, Dycho FC, Encantidos FC, Northumberland, Offside FC and Al Gazali FC emerged winners.

Dera Kesari dangal on April 13

JAMMU, April 08: The 23rd Dera Kesari Dangal, organised by Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Parbandhak Committee and Baba Banda Bahadur Sikh Samardai in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, shall be held on April 13 at Dera Baba Banda Bahadur in district Reasi.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the organising committee held under the chairmanship of president of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma. Members who attended the meeting were Baba Jatinder Paul Singh Sodhi Gaddi Nashin, Dera Baba Banda Bahadur and Baba Bahadur Sikh Samardai, Malik Ram Lubhaya Paruthi, Sant Kumar Juneja, VP Makar, Sanjay Kumar and Mohan Singh.
Wrestlers from different parts of the state as also from belt forces of BSF and JKP are also expected to compete. A good number of prominent wrestlers from neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Delhi shall also take part.
