Allow PDP to return era of good governance: Hamid Choudhary
"Coalition fails people"
4/8/2014 10:28:31 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 8: Urging people to exercise their right to franchise in favour of party candidate Yash Pal Sharma, People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Co-ordinator for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that coalition government in the state failed miserably and could not keep promises made with them. It virtually failed people who had pinned all hopes in the coalition government.
Choudhary Hamid said that National Conference (NC) led coalition government in the state could not empower Panchayats throughout five years, failed to hold elections to local bodies including municipal committees, town area committees and Municipal Corporations besides Block Development Councils (BDCs) but was still canvassing on the plank of development. He said that last five years were part of that worst ever period in the history of J&K State where corruption and nepotism flourished brazenly without any check on it. The government instead of nailing the guilty deliberately held back all measures to empower State Accountability Commission (SAC), State Vigilance Commission (SVC) and State Information Commission (SIC) so that corrupt officials could have a free hand in looting state exchequer. The Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) scam was the biggest ever scam that took place right under the nose of coalition government and marred the career of many students. This kind of governance, Choudhary Hamid said has not only spoiled the career of students but also let clouds of uncertainty loom large over the state. Collapsed education system, poor housing planning, failed agricultural reforms, a collapsed industrial policy and poor health infrastructure in the state have all exposed the government's inability to give people an able administration.
