CCL stages dharna in support of victimised families of natural calamities of 2014

Jammu, Apr 8: Council for Civil Liberties (CCL) Chairman Inder Mohinder Tar Singh led protest demonstration in front of Press Club, Jammu of those victim families from villages whose houses were badly damaged during heavy storms and rains during recent natural calamities during July- August 2014.
The victimised family members gathered in large number and they carried placards like "Come To Our Rescue", "Help Us Out", "End Our Sufferings", "We Want Justice", etc. and raised slogans like "Hum Kaya Chahatey Haein...Insaf", "Lekay Rahen Gey Apna Haq", Hamarey Hall Pe Taras Khayo Taras khayo", etc. While addressing the massive gathering Tar Singh said that it is unfortunate that the administration paid no heed to the victim families. Their houses are badly damaged and despite of all the formalities done by them and the local police stations and administration the compensation is not paid to the respective families. Today, the victims have gathered here to raise their just demands and press upon the administration to pay them the compensation immediately. They have suffered a lot during recent unpredictable weather.
As per the requirement the families have lodged FIR with Dansal Police Station the Xerox copies of the same and the photographs of the damaged houses are being exhibited here, said Tar Singh. Further, Tar Singh said that we hope the administration shall not waste any more time and will come to the rescue of these families so that they do not suffer any more. We urge upon the Divisional Commissioner to personally look in to the matter and help the victimised so that they have proper shelter.CCL shall go all out to fight for the rights of the victimised families, concluded Tar Singh. Prominent among others who addressed the gathering are Er. S.S Jamwal,Subash Chander(Retd. Tehsildar, Ghulam Doyee, Ram Pal Khajuria and Khem Raj.
