| Tariq Karra owns property worth Rs 98 crore | | | Bashir Assad
Srinagar, Apr 11: Senior PDP leader, Tariq Hamid Karra contesting Lok Sabha elections from Srinagar-Budgam constituency owns movable and immovable property worth Rs. 98 crore.
Karra, who filed his nomination papers a few days earlier challenging NC Patron, Dr. Faroq Abdullah, has declared that his movable and immovable property is worth more than Rs 98 crore as per self estimate. Karra's affidavit which he submitted along with his nomination papers suggests that he has movable property worth Rs 13,29, 110 including Rs 50, 000 cash in hand. He has also mentioned that his spouse has Rs 19, 66, 177cash in hand.
Details suggest that he owns immovable assets worth Rs. 98 croes which includes land as well.
Meanwhile, Tariq Karra's rally was today attacked by some youth with stones in Ganderbhal causing disturbances. Reports said Karra was about to address a rally at Bhadargund Ganderbal when at least five youth appeared and raised pro-freedom and pro-election boycott slogans. The youth tried to pelt stones on the people present in the rally.
Reports said that PDP leader Qazi Afzal slapped one of the youth and pushed others back after which some youth supporters of PDP stood up and chased them away. "I didn't push anybody as I know them all because they are the supporters of National Conference.
We are against the hooliganism and we even requested police not to register any case against the youth though police was ready to initiate action them," Afzal said.
