Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 11: Dr. Ramakant Dubey, Sangrakshak of VHP, J&K State has strongly advocated for ensuring a fair probe in investigation in the cases relating to Kishtwar riots which were sparked on Eid's Day. According to press release, Dubey had demanded strict possible action against the guilty and for enhanced compensation to the victims as per the direction of the Supreme Court of India's verdict, in which the apex court's bench of Chief Justice P Sathasivam and Justice Ranjan Gogoi had said that in terms of Article 35 (A) of the Constitution, there was no error in awarding higher compensation to the victims of these riots.
Dr. Dubey has condemned the state government, which is a coalition of Congress and National Conference, as some shopkeepers in the town had been paid a meager paltry amount, ranging between Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 only as the state government virtually had buried such hapless people alive.
Dr. Dubey has demanded compensation as per the actual losses of the Kishtwar Riot's sufferers as many of the victims had suffered heavy losses and only few businessmen were given a compensation ranging between Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh which was insignificant as per their actual losses as their properties which were destroyed in these riots were much higher amounting to even more than Rs 50 lakhs.
Dr. Dubey has also asked how the state govt. can restore Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo as a Minister again, who was removed from "Minister of State" position on the charges of his alleged involvement in Kishtwar riots, as at the time these riots, he was also present in the Kishtwar City.
He had asked to inquire about the persons who are instrumental for bringing him back as MOS simply on the basis of an interim report, which has been submitted by an Inquiry Commission, which was constituted by State Government and is headed by a Judge who was removed as a High Court Judge from J&K High Court on the basis of his alleged involvement in corrupts practices.
Dr. Ramakant has warned the state government to rethink about its decision regarding Kitchloo, till the final report is submitted by the Inquiry Commission, keeping in consideration the verdict of the Supreme Court of India in which it has asked the Inquiry Commission 'Constituted by the State Govt.' to submit its report within a period of three months.
