Enrolment drive launched | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 11: To increase the dwindling strength of students in Govt. Schools particularly in Primary & Middle wing, an enrolment drive was launched by president, J&K Teacher's Welfare Association, Jasmeet Singh Madaan in Gumat, Prem Nagar, Qasim Nagar & Mohinder Nagar areas. While interacting with prominent persons besides social activists of these areas, Jasmeet explained the various welfare measures taken by the Govt. for the upliftment of students besides granting scholarships to poor, orphan, SC/ ST students in addition to mid-day meals provided to them and supply of free text-books. Jasmeet said that he get an overwhelming response and people's assured him that they are going to admit their wards and poor students' of their locality soon in the Govt. Schools. Jasmeet also met many labourer's family on the way who alleged that they feel difficulty in getting their wards admitted in Govt.schools because of no Date of Birth certificate. Jasmeet informed them that the Deptt. of Education has simplified the procedure for admission of their wards by producing an affidavit duly attested by the Magistrate showing their date of birth. Labourers residing in Mohinder Nagar area assured that in the coming week, they will get their wards admitted in Govt. Schools in large numbers so that their children do not lag behind in studies and became good citizens. |
