'Sham-e-Sama' to showcase blend of ancient music, dance forms of Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Apr 11 : Atleast 100 professional musicians, artists and media professionals will team up to showcase blend of Kashmir's ancient music and dance forms in one of the most spectacular setting to mark the arrival of spring and entertain guests from film industry.
The show 'Sham-e-Sama' is a part of the 3-day 'Kashmir Spring Challenge Fest' being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department from April 12.In this festival there will be string of events including the musical and cultural display on April 13, which is being organized for the first time in Kashmir whereas other events being held as the part of activity include sporting event in Dal Lake, light and music show, fireworks and mega golf event.
The grand event is managed and coordinated by Kashmir-based event management companies including TV2 Communications and Wings.
On day first (April 12), there will be arrival of celebrities and guests who will visit Tulip Garden during the day while there will be Grand Music & Cultural Evening besides water sporting events during the day on second day (April 13). The Grand evening will showcase visual presentation of history and folk lore of Kashmir and special music and dance compositions with great lyrical renditions and fusion.
The program will also showcase Hafiz Nagma, a traditional folk classical dance form of Kashmir composed over Sufiyana; the Raqs-e-Gule Lala, a musical opera narrating story of Gulrez in local folk form; the folk basket, all time hit numbers in folk form. Other attractions include Raqs-e-Bahaar, a group performance Raqs-e-Sama while the event will witness a crowd of Bollywood personalities, a number of Indian and international film makers and also our local intellectuals. On day third an Art Quest/exhibition, Saazena a musical event, Kite flying festival will be held as main part of activity. Later in the evening there will be a standup comedy show by Seth Rafi, Shabir Hakak , Nazir Josh, Basher Kotur and others.
