Prevailing hate against ruling alliance can turn situation positive : Baig | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 11: Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former deputy chief minister, Muzzafar Hussain Baig has said there is a deep hatred against the ruling National Conference-Congress alliance and it could become a positive turn in the history of the state, if the people voted overwhelmingly in favor of the PDP. Addressing workers meeting in Lolpora and Ferozpora in Tangmarg segment of Baramulla parliamentary constituency Baig said people have to defeat the tricks of the NC which it has been employing for decades in the state to keep people away from polls and allow a new system of governance to take over which shall ensure justice for all. He said after having failed on every front the ruling party is in search of ways and means to save itself from the imminent defeat in the forthcoming polls and the people have to be aware about the NC's every move and not to allow the state to again go into the hands of those who have always traded it for the power. He said the NC is suffering from the huge deficit of ideas and no substance is left in the discourse of the party and it is now uncertainty in different forms which it is looking for to bank on but things are totally changed and it will have to face the wrath of people for the disaster it unleashed on them. Baig said both NC and Congress are responsible for putting the ordinary people on trouble, resorting to brazen loot of the state's resources and exploiting the sensibilities of people and they have to answer for every fraud they have done here over the last more than five years. He said the ruling party has nothing substantial to show in the form of its performance that is why it is raking up emotive and dull slogans like 'Autonomy' to hide its failures and befool the people. "Things are shaping in a positive direction but people have to give decisive mandate to the PDP because it is the only way out to bring the state out of the clutches of NC, which has damaged every aspect of life here," he added. He said the state is at the threshold of a change and the parliamentary polls will be a turning point to change the discourse about Kashmir issue at the national level, as the performance of the present MPs from the state have been disastrous to the extent as they have miserably failed to raise the issue in the parliament. The senior party leader, Naeem Akhtar, Chief Spokesperson; Abdul Aziz Dar, zonal president; local leaders, Mohammad Abbbas Wani, Prof Jabbar, Abdul Hamid Wani, Shabir Ahmad Mir, and others were also present on the occassion. |
