Army Chief arrives in J&K on two days visit, reviews security scenario | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 11 : The Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on a two days to access the situation in the state in wake of the aftermath of Kathua terror attack last month in which two civilian, one army personnel and three militants got killed, beside will also access the counter infiltration operations going on all along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. General Bikram Singh reached Headquarter Northern Command. The Army Commander briefed the army chief on the overall security situation in the Command theatre and relief operations undertaken by the Indian Army for the Awaam during recent onslaught of snow in the remote areas of the valley. The visit of the Army Chief is in the backdrop of several successful counter terrorist operations conducted in the Command theatre in the past few months. He also interacted with other Senior Commanders and discussed issues pertaining to welfare of troops and veterans (ex servicemen). He also commended all ranks for the recent operational successes and the high state of operational preparedness. He also complimented the officers and men of Dhruva Command for extending humanitarian assistance to the Awaam. Singh will leave for Delhi tomorrow afternoon. |
