Incomplete documents restrain PC candidate from filing papers | | | Syed Tahir Bukhari BARAMULLA, Apr 15: People's Conference (PC) candidate for Lok Sabha Election from north Kashmir's Baramulla-Kupwara constituency couldn't file his nomination form due to incomplete documents on Tuesday whereas NC and BJP candidates are likely to fill their nomination forms today and PDP on April 17. Former Deputy Director Doordarshan Srinagar, turned politician Salam-Ud-Din Bajard made his appearance along with PC Chief Sajad Gani Lone and other party workers for filling up of nomination papers at Deputy Commissioner's office complex Baramulla. "The documents of PC candidate were incomplete and he is expected to file thje papers tomorrow," sources said. Early Times has learnt that National Conference Sitting Member Parliament (MP) Sharif Din Shariq is also filing his nomination papers on Wednesday. According to sources, "Shariq will be accompanied by the National Conference Patron, and union minster for new and renewable energy Dr Farooq Abdullah and JKPC Chief , Saif-Ud-Din Soz. Both NC- alliance partners will also address party workers on Wednesday. Bhartiya Janta Party's (BJP) nominated candidate, Ghulam Mohammad Mir is also likely to file his nomination papers on the same day. Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party nominated Lok Sabah candidate for Baramulla constituency, Muzaffar Hussian Beigh is likely to file his nomination papers on 17 April. It is pertinent to mention here that on April 12 Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone who is also Returning officer for parliamentary elections from North Kashmir's 1-Baramulla-Kupwara Constituency issued a notification for conduct of polls which are scheduled to be held on May 7. However there are around 1151744 lakh voters who are franchising their votes across Baramulla Parliamentary constituency which includes 606506 males and 545219 female electors and other 19. Deputy Commissioner Baramulla who is also returning office has issued notification for conduct of polls. The last date for filing nomination is 19 April while scrutiny will take place on 21 April and last date nomination withdrawal is 23 April. The constituency is going for polls on May 7. |
