Mighty British empire failed to demolish Congress: Azad | ‘BJP no threat, It is small party with a myopic vision’ | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Apr 15: "Even the mighty British Empire failed to demolish Congress. The BJP is a very small party with a myopic vision and poses no threat to the party of the freedom movement." This was stated by Union Health Minister and former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad in an exclusive chat with the Early Times here today. Azad said Modi was like a bull in a china shop and will demolish the BJP himself by discrediting the leadership of the party. "He has sidelined the seniors who founded the BJP," he said. The Congress candidate from Doda-Kathua constituency said last year's communal violence will not impact the voter on April 17 when the constituency goes to polls. "It will make no impact on voters whatsoever, Congress and National Conference are unitedly ready to fight any political party and we are going to win with big majority" said he. He said that both the books are politically motivated. " Both the books are politically motivated and some body is behind that and their couldn't be anybody other person than Modi himself" said Azad. He said that Modi is the one who orchestrated the release of these books. Both books were planted by BJP only to undertake the task to defame the Congress party," he said. Azad also downplayed criticism on Sonia Gandhi over his televised speech few days back. "I have not come across any such speech so I cannot comment on this till I watch it myself" he said. On BJP accusing Rahul Gandhi of failure that forced Congress to seek the services of Priyanka Gandhi to prevent party debacle, Azad said that this is none of their (BJP) business. He said that it is up to the Congress to decide which leader of the party has failed or who has succeeded. "Let them take care of their own house" said Azad. Azad said that Priyanka Gandhi is part and parcel of the Congress party and she plays her role as and when required. On 272 target set by BJP, Azad said , "This is nothing new as they have been talking about 272-each leader when he has to project himself to become the national leader of BJP, he will talk of common civil code, 272 because they have nothing to offer to the people. Congress offer to the public Roads, Schools, USD's, Railway Stations-BJP has nothing to officer since last 65 years so they can only raise the issue which has no relevance." He also termed the Sanjaya Barru and Parakh allegations on PM as baseless while BJP as agenda less and retrieved the faith that Congress party will win the Parliament elections with thumping majority
