Jammu, May 17: With the culmination of Lok Sabha elections, Omar led coalition government is all set to make transfers in Police department right from SP to higher ranks officers and exercise in this regard is in progress.
Further, decks has also been cleared for K. Rajendra for the post of top cop in Jammu and Kashmir Police Force as DGP Prasad is going back to his parental department i,e in Intelligence Bureau as Special Director General. K.Rajendra is discharging his duties as Special DGP at present.
Highly placed sources informed that a special post has been carved out for Ashok Prasad in IB who is expected to relieve within days to come as police chief. Though Prasad's tenure is being completed on July 31, but Home Department of State has also shot a letter to Government of India, approval of which is awaited. Further,ADG J&K Civil Defence, Home Guard & State Disaster Response Force D.R. Doley, is going to take charge as Director North East Police Academy (NEPA) as she is relieving on May 31. Sources said that Government of India has approved Doley as Director NEPA on deputation following recommendations by State Government.
Meanwhile, SSP Jammu Atul Goel too is going to NIA on deputation, purportedly in the mid of June. His deputation has made effective after he made his representation to the Chief Minister who happens to be the Home Minister of State to recommend his name for NIA. Sources further said that the state government has shot a letter to Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in New Delhi, in this connection approval of which is also expected within days to come. Goel's service will be used for six years in NIA.
After his deputation, the chair of SSP Jammu has been vacant and state government is considering the names of police officers for this coveted post. Sources further said that for the very post government is considering SSP Uttam Chand, SSP Varinder Sharma and SP Rajesher Singh as the probable.
Informed sources further said that government is also contemplating on Mukesh Singh and JP Singh as IGP Jammu, who is expected to be transferred in the cabinet meeting.
Further leaving aside Kashmir zone, transfers at district level officers including SP Rajouri,SP Kishtwar and SP Kathua are also expected ,besides two DIGs posted in hilly district in Jammu zone during the upcoming cabinet meeting, sources maintained.
