Jammu, June 9 : Led by Dev Raj Bali, President VRS Union and General Secretary of the Union, a protest was taken out in Jammu outside Press Club to press government for its failure to address the genuine demands of the union members. The Union strongly criticized the adamant attitude of J&K Govt, towards the VRS/GHS employees of J&K SRTC saying- "We are on the road and giving the demonstrations and dharnas for the last 4 years and 7 VRS/GHS employees of the Association died in the course of this time as they could not afford good treatment because they have not funds for their treatment but nothing has been done till date to address the problems of the retired employees". "We appeal to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to release the payment from the Finance Department of J&K which amounts to Rs.30, 16, 10, 673.00(including leave salary, gratuity, exgratia grants and pending arrears since 1999) as we have already suffered a lot, as other problems of the public your majesty is solving this case may please be solved at the earliest possible as our families are suffering badly for the last 4 years", said agitating employees. |
