Srinagar, July 27 : In view of the Eid-ul-Fitr, Jammu and Kashmir bank (JKB) and Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank (JKGB) branches were functioning in the Kashmir valley today to help customers to withdraw money for the festival. However, all nationalised banks, including State Bank of India (SBI), remained closed on account of Sunday. All branches of the JKB and JKGB branches opened this morning in the Kashmir valley, drawing large number of customers. Both the bank branches will function for full days, the officials said. Meanwhile, several hundred crores of rupees were withdrawn from Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) during the past few days in the Kashmir valley. However, the customers criticized the management of nationalised banks for not keeping the bank branches open in view of the Eid festival. |
