SAMBA, July 27 : A large number of residents of village Panjtilla in Samba gathered at main chowk of Panjtilla and staged protest demonstration against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for not supplying drinking water for the last 15 days.
Amid raising slogans, villagers said that in spite of repeated requests made to AEE PHE, no action was taken to restore the water supply in their village.
They also demanded transfer of local staff from the village and threatened to launch agitation if their demand would not be conceded in three hours. In the meantime, JEE reached the spot and said that the water supply to the village would be restored in three hours, following which protesters lifted the Dharna. |
