Demanding basis facilities, LJM takes out protest rally | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 27: Demanding basic facilities in Primary Health Center Badyal Brahmana, locals of area today organized a protest rally under the aegis of Lok Jagriti Manch (LJM). According to press release, the rally was organised to warn the administration to reinstate the basic facilities like medicine tests, x-rays apparatus, Generator set, ambulance facility etc, in the primary health center. The rally was attended by more than 250 peoples and marching from different villages, culminated near the primary health center (PHC). Addressing the rally Vishal Sharma said that the new building of PHC was constructed in January 2012, but since then basic facilities were not provided to the local people of Badyal Brahmana. "We come to know in reply of RTI that there are 17 staff personnel on records but on ground 3 to 5 are working. The generator set is running out of fuel and X-Ray machine is out of operator from the last 2 years", he said. Vinay, a youth in the rally, said that the primary health centre catered the need of more than 15 surrounding villages with 15000 populace, but due to lack of basic facilities, the local people were forced to rush the community health centre, R.S Pura. Another speaker Gulshan Sharma emphasised that instead of repeated appeals, in written to the local administration no action has been taken so far. The government has erected a non-functional infrastructure which was useless to the local mass. While concluding the rally march a consensus was made that if the administration would not fulfill their demands, they would march to RS Pura in front of Sub Divisional Magistrate. |
