CAPD intensifies checking realizes Rs 11,150 as fine

KATHUA, July 28 : On the eve of Eid festival, a special squad of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department under the supervision of Assistant Director CAPD Kathua inspected about 92 shops in Kathua district. During the inspection, a total of 37 violators were booked under Essential Commodity and LPG Act 2005 and realized a fine of Rs. 11150 from the defaulters. All the Tehsil Supply Officers of the district have intensified the checking of shops especially shops of mutton, chicken, sweet shops and vegetable vendors. All the shopkeepers have been directed to display Rate lists at their business premises. All the hoteliers and Halwai shops were also directed not to use Domestic LPG for commercial purposes otherwise strict action shall be taken against them under rule.
