Educational institutes celebrate Independence Day

Jammu, Aug 16: The 68th Independence Day was celebrated by various schools, educational institutes and other organizations with patriotic fervor across Jammu.
Government Girls High School, Salenger Zone Chowki Choara Tehsil Akhnoor and Government Primary School Pail celebrated 68th Independence Day jointly with great patriotic fervor at school premises.
Headmaster Om Parkash and Panch of Salengar hoisted the tricolor followed by the national anthem. March past and cultural items which were displayed by the students of both schools. Speaking on the occasion, headmaster asked the students to become disciplined, faithful and dedicated towards their country. He further stressed them to walk on the path shown by the freedom fighters. A large number of local people witnessed the programme. Sweets were distributed among all the students.
Co-operative Public High School Ambphalla celebrated 68th Independence Day and Janam Ashtami with fervor in school. The programme began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Kanta Mehta senior citizen and grandmother of a student. Students presented various cultural program like patriotic songs, dances, speeches on the occasion. Dahi Handi ceremony was also performed by the senior students of the school.
Jodhamal Public School celebrated 68th Independence Day with enthusiasm and patriotism. A special assembly was organized in the school. The programme started with the welcoming of the Chief Guest, Dr CM Seth by Jodhamal Scouts & Guides with their special claps and yells, which was followed by the incredible contribution of Scouts & Guides in the form of different programme including March Past in the honour of the Chief Guest. Principal, Trilok Singh Bist, in his speech remembered the untold sacrifices of the freedom
Alexander Memorial School Jammu also celebrated Independence Day by the staff and students with usual solemnity and gaiety. The whole school campus was tastefully decorated befitting the occasion. The staff and the students exuded great joy and enthusiasm on this National Festival. The national flag was hoisted by the principal Esther William and the school band played the national anthem. The school choir presented patriotic songs and a special assembly was conducted by the students wherein they recalled the great sacrifices given by our leaders during Independence Movement.
68th Independence Day was celebrated by Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur. The national flag was hoisted by Ranjit Kanwar, SSP (Principal) in presence of VK Jamwal SP (Vice Principal) Ashok Kumar Chib, Dy. SP (Outdoor), KK Zutshi, Dy SP (Admn), Satish Sharma, Dy. SP (Tech), Romesh Chander, Sr. PO, Madan Lal Dy. SP, Staff/trainees of PTTO Vijaypur, Rajinder Sharma, Headmaster of Government Middle School Thalori along with staff/students and prominent citizens participated in the Independence Day function. On this occasion, a colorful cultural programme was presented by trainees/staff which comprising of Kashmir (Folk) Songs, Dogri song, Hindi Patriotic song, Hindi Gazal, Kashmir group song and "Mono Action" by the staff/trainees of different courses.
Independence Day, 2014 was celebrated in Central Jail Jammu Kot Bhalwal with great joy and enthusiasm. Celebrations were started by hoisting of national Flag by Dinesh Sharma, S.G. Superintendent Jail, who spoke on the importance of Independence Day, 2014.
On this occasion, a cultural programme was organized for the Jail Inmates. Besides this inmates also displayed their talent in poetry, singing, dancing and cultural activities. The various officers present on the occasion were Medical officer, Assistant Commandant, CRPF & CRPF Personnel and other dignitaries. Besides this a huge gathering of subordinate staff and prominent citizens of the locality were also present on the occasion. Sweets were also distributed among the staff members and jail Inmates.
Speedball Association Jammu today celebrated "INDEPENDENCE DAY". On this occasion speedball players who recently bought laurels to the state in participating in the Nationals Sub Junior Category at New Delhi were present on the occasion. Students were presented gifts by Nitish Mahajan joint secretary speed ball association.
Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Jammu celebrated the 68th Independence Day with great patriotic fervor and gaiety. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak was the Chief Guest. Various cultural items were presented by the student on the occasion.
The Chief Guest Gambhir Dev Singh Charak unfurled the National Flag and National Anthem was presented by the students. A small but impressive program was held in the school premises. The students presented small skits and patriotic items. The Principal highlighted the great sacrifices of martyrs for their motherland. He also laid stress on students and staff to work hard for achieving the goal of education and to work with dedication and enthusiasm in every filed, they happen to serve in their future career after completing their education.
Mount Litera Zee School, Kathua organized a function on Independence Day. The function commenced with the welcome speech by Sampada Mansotra of Class 6th. In her speech, she defined the importance of Independence Day. This year Mount Litera zee school celebrated India's 68th Independence Day with great fervor. The function started with a song medley presented by 5th, 6th, and 7th showcasing their pride and devotion in being an Indian. Anmol Jasrotia of class 1st recited a poem "Pyara pyara mera desh, Saja sawra mara desh". Also students from class 3rd and 5th spoke slogans like: "True Independence and freedom can only exist in doing what is right" thereby displaying their patriotic fervor.
R M College of Education & R M Public School celebrated Independence Day in R.M. premises. The flag was hosted by Trustee of the college Rita Mengi, Principal of the college P.K. Dhar and Principal of the school Ravinder Kour along with the staff members followed by National Anthem. Trustee of the college Rita Mengi highlighted the importance of Independence Day and congratulated all on account of the day. Principal P K. Dhar while speaking on the occasion urged the students to work hard and contribute towards nation by following the great persons and those who scarified their lifes for their Mother Land.
Param Hans Vidya Mandir Public School, Cantonment Jammu.
In a colorful function which was held by the tiny tots of Param Hans Vidya Mandir Public School, Govindpura, Cantonment Jammu under the chairmanship of Advocate Jasmeet Kour Pandey which was attended the Students and their Parents.The function started with welcome address after which the chairman unfurled the National flag wherefrom the students from various classes gave their presentation.
Apple Kids International Pre-School, Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) celebrated 68th Independence Day with pomp and show. The little toddlers sang patriotic songs and presented a colourful programme. Centre Head, Jagjeet briefed the children about the importance of the Day and the ways to become an honest, sincere and hardworking citizen.

Lord Mahavira Playway School celebrated 68th Independence Day" with great pomp and show. The little angels of nursery class came in the dresses of freedom fighters. A singing competition was held between L.K.G, U.K.G, Ist and 2nd class students. The students sang various patriotic songs. The winners were Tanishka, Geetika, Charu, Manu and Yuvraj. The School Principal, Madhu Sharma distributed prizes and sweets among the students on the occasion.
To keep alive the flame of patriotism and mark the celebration of 68th Independence Day, the premises of Model Academy, was filled with national spirit and love for the country. Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, was the chief guest on the occasion. The celebration was also attended by Rupa Gupta, Management Representative, Dr Chitra Mishra, Principal, Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal, Ruchika Gupta, Project Director Humming Buds and Usha Chuni, Convener sports. Students from Humming Buds-the pre-school also celebrated the event by dressing up as famous freedom fighters and chanting slogans showing patriotism. Teachers tied tri-colour bands on all the kids and dignitaries were presented with badges. Dr Adit Gupta congratulated the students and staff on the occasion.
A colourful function was organized by 1ST STEP TUTORIAL, Janipur, Jammu on the occasion of Independence Day. Viney Gupta, the Director of the Tutorial unfurled the National Flag which was followed by patriotic songs by the students. On the occasion, Director spoke and impressed the students and the teachers to be patriot and work for the Nation's Integrity. He stressed to remove social evils from the society. He further said that there is a need to clean hearts and thoughts. Atlast, sweets were distributed among the students.
Independence Day was celebrated by various army formations with the school children with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor in Rajouri and Poonch districts. The celebrations started with Flag hoisting. Augmented with colorful and energetic performance by tiny tots and senior students, I-Day was also celebrated at Valley View Army Public and Army Goodwill Public (AGP) schools at Rajouri.
Provincial Electrical Employees Union dist. unit Kathua celebrated Independence Day at power house Hiranagar. The programme was chaired by P.C Sharma Provincial President PEEU. Superintending Engineer Kathua Sanjeev Rathore was the chief guest who hosted the national flag accompanied by P.C Sharma.
The programme was organized by the dist. team Kathua where employees in hundred from Kathua, Basohli, Billawar and Hiranagar participated. Later chief guest S.E Kathua addressed the programme.
Prominent Citizen Forum Bishnah celebrated 68th Independence Day with patriotic fervour by people of Bishnah area with holding of functions at different placed by prominent Citizen Forum, Bishan. Senior Advocate and prominent personality of Jammu M K Bhardwaj was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gatherings.
The Forum organised functions in association with Kanchan Arts Society. On the occasion an impressive 'Kavi Sammelan' was also held where glowing tributes were paid to freedom fighters and role of our security forces guarding the border was also lauded.
Speaking on the occasion while unfurling the National Flag in the presence of an impressive gathering at Main Bazar here on Friday, Bhardwaj reflected on the role of the Freedom Fighters and reminded people particularly youth about the supreme sacrifice made by many of them. It becomes our prime duty to protect the national interests and Freedom gifted to us by our fore-fathers after great personal sacrifices, he observed and added : " Performing one's duties honestly is also an act of national service which all of us should bear in mind."
On the eve of 68th Independence Day National Flag was unfurled in the office of Chambers of Traders Federation Jammu. National Flag was hoisted by Yashpaul Gupta President of the Federation and he also exhorted the gathering to maintain peace and harmony on the occasions. A large number of senior members of CTF participated in the Flag hoisting ceremony. The prominent among those were Dinesh Mahajan, Neeraj Anand, Vinod Sachdeva, Dinesh Gupta, Ajay Mahajan, Yash Paul Gupta, Kewal Gupta, Vinod Gupta, Subash Verma,Nek Ram Sharma, S.S. Arora, Ayoudhya Gupta, Om Parkash Mahajan, S. Balvinder Singh, Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Khajuria, Madam Shanti, Raghveer Gupta, Shiv Partap Gupta, Vinod Malhotra etc.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) celebrated 68th Independence Day with lot of fanfare. T-shirts with Tricolor and 'Walk for Health' painted on it were distributed among the walkers. The walk was organized from Trikuta Nagar Main Park on the Railway Road to the Main Market and back to the Park. Over 200 residents of Trikuta Nagar participated in the walk with tricolor buntings and caps.
The Flag hoisting was to be done by VC, JDA who could not participate in the function due to unavoidable reasons. Tricolor was hoisted by Vikram Gour, President TNWS with thundering chairs and l raising of slogans by the participants. Speaking on the occasion Vikram Gour said the celebration of the National Days must be made with devotion, pride and commitment to the national cause. The residents should come together and join hands by strengthening the TNWS to enable it to fight for their common cause.
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society, an NGO working for upliftment of children of slum And rural areas for more than 25 years, celebrated Independence Day at its Rajiv Nagar , School. Ajit Sahu, Dy. Commissinor of Jammu was chief guest on the occasion.
The program was started with unfurling of national flag by chief guest. While welcoming chief guest Sh. Sahu, president of society Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai gave an account of the works being done by VKW Society and progress made by the children adopted by the society.
On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, Flag hoisting ceremony was performed within Dogra Educational Complex, Bassi Kalan Bari Brahamana, where the students and staff from various Educational Institutions of Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College participated and with respect and regards offered their heartly tributes to the sacrifices of Freedom Fighters during their struggle for Independence of India.

Trust Naïve Heeds Udhampur a Grand function on the Occasion of Independence day celebrated On this occasion K.K Sharma, Chairman TNH Hoisted National Flag in udhampur. in this occasion President Pritam Singh, General Secretary, Pawan Sharma and Uttam Singh Kuldeep Singh. Along with other trust members present. New Modern High School Brolha Independence day celebrated at school premises. P. L Goswami Principal hoisted the National Flag in school premises, staff members, parents of children's are also present in this occasion The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with fervor at Balgran-A Charitable trust for destitute children located near Channi Rama Jammu. President, Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Rakesh Gupta hoisted the tricolor who was present as Chief Guest in the programme. The function was attended by the office bearers of the CCI as well as the home for destitute. The children presented different cultural programmes including dance items and songs in their melodious voice which was widely appreciated by the CCI members. Two inmates of the Balgran namely Sourav Sharma, who completed his engineering Degree and Neelam Sharma who completed her graduation in Commerce were presented mementoes by the Chief Guest.
