Militants target BSF patrol again
ASI among two killed, four injured

SRINAGAR, Aug 16: At least two soldiers of Border Security Force (BSF) were killed and four others received injuries after militants attacked their vehicle near underground military air base in Koil area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district adding number of militant attacks on forces rise to four during the week in area.
According to details received militants who had laid an ambush opened heavy fire upon a BSF vehicle bearing registration number WB-74J3708 near higher secondary school of Koil village of Pulwama, a place which is few meters away from largest Army airbase in south Kashmir.'
The details reveal that two dead soldiers were later identified as ASI Rodhan Yadav and Constable Sodagar Yadav both belong to 150 Battalion of BSF and the injured soldiers are Head Constable Jai Prakash, Constable Amar Bahadur, Driver-Constable Vinod Kumar of 92 Battalion of BSF and Constable Sarabjeet Singh of 165 BSF Battalion. According to details initially In the attack, six BSF personnel of 165 batallion sustained critical injuries and were immediately shifted to nearby hospital where two of them succumbed to injuries and remaining four injured were shifted to Army's 92 Base camp hospital here in Srinagar.
Pertinently this is the fourth attack on security forces since 11 August 2014 on security forces in south Kashmir and second on BSF in this week.
At least, eight BSF soldiers were wounded when suspected militants attacked their convoy on Srinagar-Jammu highway in south Kashmir Pampore area on August 11 evening, a day ahead when Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir was scheduled on a convey which was returning from Pahalgam towards their base camp in Pantha Chowk Srinagar.
On August 13, a police party was attacked in Galander area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District in the outskirts of Pampore area leaving two cops and a civilian dead.
On August 12, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel was wounded in south Kashmir's Puchal Pulwama area after suspected shot at him and left the place unnoticed.
Pertinently soon after the attack today in Koil village of Pulwama district, Army, SOG, BSF and CRPF cordoned off the whole area around Koil and launched massive search operation to nab the attackers.
