Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 16: The BJP is playing "hide and seek" game with former Congress leader Choudhary Lal Singh and his arch rival Jagdish Chander Sapolia, who is party MLA from Basohli assembly seat.
On the one hand party has reportedly promised Choudhary Lal Singh Basohli and Bani assembly segments while on the other party has not ruled out any possibility of repeating Jagdish Sapolia from Basohli segment.
Union Minister and Lok Sabha member from Udhampur-Doda seat, Dr Jitendra Singh today visited Basohli. During his day long visit to Basohli, Dr Jitendra Singh praised Jagdish Sapolia from core of his heart and appreciated role played by Sapolia in the Lok Sabha elections.
Although Dr Jitendra Singh did not openly assure that mandate would be given to Jagdish Sapolia, he droped many hints that Sapolia would be repeated as party candidate. Dr Jitendra Singh's praise of Jagdish Sapolia is a clear indication that the Union Minister has soft corner for sitting MLA from Basohli.
Credible sources in BJP said that party has decided to keep both Jagdish Sapolia and Choudhary Lal Singh in good humour. Both the leaders have been assured Basholi segment for the coming assembly elections.
Sources said that leadership of BJP has decided that instead of taking decision on Basholi assembly segment at this juncture it would be better to take decision at the eleventh hour.
While discussing terms and conditions with Choudhary Lal Singh before his joining the BJP leadership has promised to give him two seats of Basholi and Bani but internally party leadership has decided that let Choudhary Lal Singh joined decision on Basholi seat would be taken later.
Union Minister, Dr Jatindra Singh has recognized the role played by Jagdish Sapolia in his elections so it but obvious that he (Dr Singh) would support Sapolia's candidature.
