Bhandari expresses concern over scarcity of drinking water | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Aug 16: A meeting of Kissan Board under the chairmanship of senior Congress leader Shamsher Singh Bhandari, was held today and expressed the serious concern scarcity of drinking water in Kishtwar district. Addressing the meeting, Bhandari accused the concerned department for unavailability of drinking water and said that department seems to be mute spectator over the acute shortage of drinking water, even if they are well appraised about the fact. Bhandari has lambasted the Hydraulic Division Kishtwar for its slackness to redress this primary issue, largely in context to the interest of public without any delay. He said the tall claims of the government fell flat during scorching heat and the people have to face hardship to get water. The water distribution system is in dilapidated condition and water wasted is not properly tapped by the department concerned. Bhandari has urged upon the Minister for PHE and Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar to direct the concerned department heads to ensure regular supply of drinking water to every nook and corner of Kishtwar Town and other parts of the District Kishtwar to which there is brewing resentment among the public. Those who spoke on the occasion include Tilak Raj Shan and Farooq Ahmed Tapal. |
