JK Govt ready to discuss passage of Judicial Commission Bill : Mir | | | Kishtwar, Aug 16: Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs Minister in Jammu and Kashmir government Mir Saiffullah said that state government is ready for debate and discuss on Judicial Commission Bill passed by both the houses of Parliament of India for its passage with regard to its implementation in state of Jammu and Kashmir. Keeping in view of special power under Article 370 of the constitution, central laws could not be directly implemented in the state of Jammu and Kashmir until and unless the state government passes the legislature in state Council as well as in Assembly. Talking to the media persons on the side lines of Independence Day function at Kishtwar, J & K Law Minister Mir Saiffullah said that there are already some factors mentioned in Judicial policy that has been debated several time in the past. He said that the Judicial Commission bill passed by the Parliament of India with regard to abolition of collegium system in appointment of Judges will be looked into, added that the state government will decide over its implementation whether to allow the passage of the law in the state or not. With regard to the certain amendments made by the Union Government in Juvenile Act, J & K Law minister that that Juvenile act is already in place in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. "If there is any need to make some amendments, it will be looked into" said Mir Saiffullah. He said that enactment of laws and their amendments is a continuous process. "Laws are bound to be enacted and followed by the procedure of amendments with the passage of time and we are ready to make necessary amendments in juvenile act in case the need arises" maintain Mir Saiffullah. |
