Two sisters washed away in flashfloods 8/16/2014 11:51:51 PM Rajouri, Aug 16: In a tragic incident two real sisters have been washed away in the floods on the evening of August 15 in Kandi area in the district when they were caught in flashfloods following incessant rains in district. "The deceased have been identified as Parveiz Akhter wife of Mohd Razak and Akhter Begam w/o Mohd Shabir resident of Hubi under the jurisdiction of Kotranka Police Station, police sources said. Police said that the sisters had gone to collect grass for their live stocks while coming back to home both got trapped in flash floods in Ans river and got washed away. "People on the river banks tried to save the women but failed to enter the flood water, police sources said. However during search operation launched jointly by police and army today early morning recovered the bodies of deceased at about 11.30 pm some about 2 kilometers in the downstream.
