SSP Kathua directed to pin- point officer for not producing 'weapon of offence' | After 21 yrs of trial: Life-imprisonment awarded in Double Murder case | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 16 : Additional Sessions Judge Kathua Sonia Gupta awarded life-imprisonment to Kuldip Singh of Pathankote in double murder case after 21 years trial while directing SSP Kathua to submit a report pinpointing the official/officer for non production of weapon of offence during trial within 15 days from receiving copy Judgment. While awarding life-imprisonment, Additional Sessions Judge Kathua Sonia Gupta took serious note of the investigating agency and observed that perusal of record reveals that case involving double murder has been treated in a very casual manner by the Investigating Agency/ Prosecution during the investigation and trial. Observing neither I/O has been produced by the prosecution no as observed earlier, weapon of offence has been produced during the trial, the Court directed SSP Kathua to look into the matter and submit a report pinpointing the official/officer for non production of weapon of offence during trial and its status, personally or through DSP Hqr within 15 days from receiving copy Judgment. Additional Sessions Judge Kathua Sonia Gupta awarded life-imprisonment to Kuldip Singh s/o Kehar Singh r/o Pathankote in double murder case for murdering of one Kartar Singh and Parsanta Devi, after 21 years trial and investigations. According to the police case on February 19, 1993 Kuldip Singh entered into the house of Kartar Singh at Sanochak at 11 am and committed the murder of Kartar Singh and Parsanta Devi. On this police registered a case and after completion of investigation produced the challan.(JNF) |
