Dr Jitendra Singh visits Basohli, given warm welcome | | | Early Times Report
Basohli, Aug 16: Dr. Jitendra Singh, after getting unprecedented victory in the just concluded parliamentary elections, paid his first visit to Basohli town where he was given a red carpet welcome by the natives. Dr. Jitendra Singh was accompanied by Rajeev Jasrotia Maha Mantri BJP, and Sanjeev Sharma Incharge PMO branch Jammu. Ranjeev Jasrotia and Sanjeev Sharma addressed the audience and stressed upon them to vote in favor of BJP in the forthcoming assembly elections. Dr. Jitendra Singh in his speech promised for making Basohli a heritage town, appealed to the people for donating land for Kendriya Vidyalay at Basohli. Dr. Singh also hinted that the matter regarding the establishing the satellite campus at Basohli is in the pipeline and will be immediately decided. Dr. Singh told the audience that his first preference will be to provide facility of latrines for the women of the border area because it becomes very difficult for them to defecate in the open while the army jawans patroling the area. Dr. Singh also informed the audience regarding the construction of the bridge over river Ravi to connect Keerian Gandyal with district Gurdasspur and hoped that Gadkari transport minister will lay the foundation stone of the bridge very soon. He said that the stoppage of Hemkunt Express at Hiranagar station has been sanctioned honoring the religious sentiments the people. While talking about the roads he told the audience that the Center government has sanctioned Rs. 8000 Crores under PMGSY scheme. The people were enthralled over the doubling of the stipend of the SPO's from Rs. 3000 to 6000 pm. In the last he told the audience about the opening of PMO office branch at 13 A Gandhi Nagar in order to facilitate the people for conveying their problems to the PMO office at Delhi.
