Sacrilegious act lead to people-police clash 9/6/2014 11:35:15 PM Jammu, Sept 6: Scores of protestors and policemen received injuries in a ding-dong battle that took place at Bantalab near here, following an alleged sacrilegious act. As per eyewitnesses, hundreds of the people came on road at Bantalab and held a demonstration against an alleged sacrilegious act which caused disruption in the vehicular movement for hours together. The protesters also clashed with police after which police canecharged them and also fired teargas shells to disperse them. The ding-dong battle between them continued till late tonight.Sources said the sacrilegious act sparked off strong resentment in the area with the people holding a demonstration, demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
